Why should you join NYCAYSA?

The mission of the Association is to exert a positive influence on both state and national correctional policy and to promote the professional development of individuals working in all aspects of the corrections field. CAYSA's primary purpose is to be of service to both the field and it's members.

We are open to ALL those who work in Corrections and Youth Services or a related field and who either work or live in New York State. We consider all who deal with social integration - from those in delinquency prevention programs in the community to those in maximum security special housing units - as professionals in our field. All staff and volunteers are professionals united for public safety and a better society.

Together in the Association, we can further our individual professional developments and at the same time articulate mutual goals and aspirations from a statewide and national platform. Together we will make an impact!

CAYSA is a Dual Member Chapter of the American Corrections Association which was founded in 1870. The American Correctional Association (ACA) is a professional membership organization dedicated to the improvement of Corrections and the training and development of Corrections professionals. With more than 20,000 members, ACA's membership consists of individuals and organizations involved in all facets of Corrections - including adult and juvenile justice, institutions of higher learning, probations and parole services located in the United States, Canada, and other nations, as well as 74 chapters and affiliates representing states and professional organizations.
